True Friendship Tested.

One bright morning, two travellers were passing through a dense and silent forest. They walked slowly, speaking cheerfully to each other, pretending to be close friends. The tall and lean traveller was selfish by nature, while the short and fat traveller was kind-hearted and sincere.

Halfway through the dark path, a fierce and hungry bear suddenly appeared from behind the thick bushes. The lean traveller, trembling with fear, quickly and cowardly climbed up the nearest strong tree. He thought only about his own safety and left his poor companion behind.

The fat traveller, who was brave but unable to climb, lay down quietly on the soft ground. Cleverly, he pretended to be dead and held his breath steadily. The huge bear came close, sniffed him carefully, and thought that he was lifeless. Slowly and silently, the bear walked away into the deep forest.

When the danger was gone, the selfish traveller climbed down proudly and asked, “What secret advice did the bear whisper in your ear?” The wise traveller replied calmly, “The bear warned me never to trust false friends who abandon others in times of trouble.”

Moral: A selfish friend is no friend at all.
