Simple Past Tense: it's used to describe actions that were completed in the past. 
Structure:
A.V. Subject + Verb2 (past tense) + Object.
P.V. Object + was / were V3 + by Subject. (Obj. Case)
Example:
  • She saw her grandmother.
  • Her grandmother was seen. 
  • They ate pizza for dinner.
  • Pizza was eaten for dinner.
