GST (Goods and Services Tax):

GST (Goods and Services Tax):

Speech on GST. πŸ‘‡

Good morning everyone,

Today I am going to speak about GST – Goods and Services Tax.

GST is one of the biggest tax reforms in India. It was introduced on 1st July 2017. Before GST, people had to pay many different taxes like VAT, Service Tax, Excise Duty, etc. This created confusion and also made goods costlier.

The Government of India introduced GST to bring all these taxes under one single tax system. That means now we don’t pay many separate taxes, we just pay GST. This makes buying and selling simpler, transparent, and fair.

GST is applied on almost everything we buy – clothes, food items, electronics, travel, and many services. There are different GST slabs like 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, depending on the product or service. For example, basic items like food grains are either tax-free or very low-taxed, while luxury items have higher GST.

The main aim of GST is to create “One Nation, One Tax, One Market.” It has made trade easier across the whole country, reduced corruption, and helped the government increase its revenue in a fair way.

For students like us, understanding GST is important because it affects our daily life. When our parents buy things from a shop or order online, a part of the money they pay goes as GST. This money is later used by the government for schools, hospitals, roads, and development of our country.

To conclude, GST is a simple, transparent, and modern tax system that benefits both the government and the people. It makes India stronger and more united as one big market.

Thank you.

A Shorter Version πŸ‘‡

Good morning everyone,

Today I want to talk about **GST – Goods and Services Tax.**

GST was introduced in India on **1st July 2017.** Before that, people had to pay many different taxes like VAT, Excise Duty, and Service Tax. This was confusing and costly.

With GST, all these taxes are combined into **one single tax.** It makes buying and selling simpler. For example, when we buy clothes, food, or even a mobile phone, GST is included in the price.

There are different GST rates like 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%, depending on the product. Basic items have low tax, while luxury items have higher tax.

The main idea of GST is **“One Nation, One Tax, One Market.”** It helps the government collect money fairly, which is later used for schools, hospitals, and roads.

So, GST is a smart system that makes our country stronger and more united.

Thank you.
