The Fox and the Tiger Question no 17

The Fox and the Tiger

Once, in a dense forest, lived a mighty tiger feared by all. One day, a clever fox approached him with a plan. “O King,” said the fox, “why waste your strength hunting daily? Walk with me, and I shall show everyone that I am your trusted minister. They will respect me, and you can frighten them even more.”

The tiger, amused, agreed. Together they strolled through the jungle. Animals trembled and fled at their sight. The fox proudly declared, “See, they run because of me!”

The tiger silently smiled. Days passed, and the fox grew arrogant, thinking the fear was for him alone. One day, the tiger quietly stayed behind while the fox walked alone. The animals, seeing no tiger, chased and beat the fox away.

The humbled fox returned, realizing his folly.

Moral: Never claim credit for another’s power.
