The pyramids of Egypt are among the most recognizable structures in the world. They is built as tombs for pharaohs and their queens. The largest pyramid, called the Great Pyramid of Giza, was constructed for Pharaoh Khufu over 4,500 years ago. It is believed to have take about 20 years to build, using more than two million stone blocks, each weigh several tonnes. The pyramids were constructed with precise alignments, and many archaeologists still wonder how such massive structures was built without modern machineries. Some historians even believes that they were constructed by slave labor, but this is widely debated among experts.
