Here are 5 places on Earth that are relatively unseen by humans:

  1. The Mariana Trench - The deepest trench on Earth, located in the western Pacific Ocean. It plunges down to an incredible depth of nearly 7 miles (11 kilometers). The pressure at the bottom is immense, almost 1,100 times greater than atmospheric pressure at sea level. No sunlight reaches these depths, and the temperatures are frigid. Exploration of the Mariana Trench is very challenging, but manned and unmanned vehicles have ventured down to explore this alien world. 


 


  1. Subglacial Lakes - Hidden beneath thick layers of ice, subglacial lakes exist all over the world, including under Antarctica and Greenland. The largest known subglacial lake is Lake Vostok in Antarctica, which is estimated to be the size of Lake Ontario and has been isolated for millions of years. Scientists believe these lakes may harbor unique microbial life forms that have evolved in complete darkness and isolation. 





  1. The Deep Ocean Trenches - There are many deep ocean trenches around the world, like the Mariana Trench. These incredibly deep and remote places are difficult to explore, and much of what lies within them remains unknown. The extreme pressure and darkness create a unique environment that may hold undiscovered species and ecosystems. 





  1. Cave Systems - Vast cave networks exist all over the world, many of which remain largely unexplored. These caves can contain spectacular formations, like stalactites and stalagmites, and may also harbor unique wildlife that has adapted to living in complete darkness. One such cave system is Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, which is the world's largest cave by volume. 




  1. Uncontacted Tribes - There are still a small number of indigenous tribes around the world that have had little or no contact with the outside world. These tribes choose to live in isolation, and their cultures and ways of life remain largely unknown. The Sentinelese people of North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean are one well-known example.
